Palmdale is a city with small-town values, which prides itself on having a close community with all the amenities of nearby Los Angeles and the outdoor activities of the San Gabriel mountains. Exciting events like color runs, outdoor concerts, and other family fun are put on by the local playhouse and amphitheater and enjoyed by many in the community. Get wet at Drytown Water Park, one of the best places for the family to visit in the summertime. Ride Dusty's Mineshaft Racer, where you can race another person down an enclosed tube or tube down Big Rock River for a more slow-paced ride. Devi's Punch Bowl ends in a splash pool, while Rattler's Revenge is in total darkness, until riders get thrown into the sunlight unexpectedly! The little kids can stay safe and enjoy some thrills at Little Miner's Camp, which has age-appropriate play areas and toys. Birthday parties for kids include a special gift, admission and meal for each guest and a private pavilion for two hours.

Make sure your children are at one of the best summer camps around with La Petite Academy and their great escape camps. There are different weekly themes, including spy camp, on stage performing arts, experiments in science, get your game on sports camp, wilderness explorer camp, and culinary arts. Each camp goes on connected field trips, like the zoo, the aquarium, spending the day at the park, and starting a community garden. Early childhood programs are also offered for ages 6 weeks to 5 years. These programs will host themed activities and special guests.

Let the games begin at Paintball Wars, which has a speedball field and two rec fields with bunkers. Membership is free and gear is provided, unless you want to bring your own. The fields are set-up for all ages and there is safety briefing before all games, so you know the young ones will be safe. The park is owned by a non-profit that wanted a safe place for at-risk kids and their families to play sports, volunteer, and stay educated. If the birthday boy or girl wants to celebrate at Paintball Wars, then they play for free! Daily rates range from 20-45 dollars.
